The Beaches
The sands of Omaha and Juno (D-Day, June 6, 1944) in France, and the stones of the beach at Dieppe (August 19, 1942).
I cannot even begin to fathom the thoughts of the soldiers standing in their landing crafts as they're approaching the shore.
